Fishbowl enables you to create reorder points for every part in your inventory. You can set reorder points companywide or for each location where you store the parts. When a part reaches its minimum quantity, Fishbowl automatically sends an email and/or text message to specified staff members about it. This automation helps with order processing and order fulfillment because most of the work is done for you.

The process of creating reorder points in Fishbowl is nice and easy. Simply click the MRP (Material Resource Planning) button in Fishbowl's Part module and walk through the steps it gives you. At the end, Fishbowl will calculate what each part’s reorder point should be. This is a powerful tool that helps you prevent stockouts and improve the entire inventory management process.

Auto Purchase Orders

Automatically generate purchase orders to replenish low stock.

Auto Purchase Orders

Once you have set up reorder points and some of your parts reach those minimum quantities, Fishbowl automatically creates purchase orders for those parts. These purchase orders contain the preferred vendor and the proper quantity that you preset. You can immediately issue a purchase order to the vendor or alter it first and then issue it.

08 | Accounting Software Integration

Integrate Fishbowl with QuickBooks or Xero to automatically record purchase orders in the general ledger

If some parts are too low, you can quickly generate purchase orders for them. Shortly after you ship goods out, in addition to deducting the inventory from the system, Fishbowl automatically adjusts the cost of goods sold and inventory asset in your integrated accounting solution. Thus, it is a good idea to integrate QuickBooks or Xero with Fishbowl's order fulfillment and inventory management software.

09 | Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)

Integrate with an EDI to customize order formats for big-box retailers

If you sell products to retail chains, you will need to make sure your sales orders and purchase orders are formatted correctly for each one. Most big-box stores require vendors to comply with their unique requirements. Rather than attempting to do this manually, you’re better off using an EDI to automatically reformat your sales orders and purchase orders for each retailer. Fishbowl integrates with eZCom, Infocon Systems, and SPS Commerce to enable this order processing functionality.
