We’ve covered more than a dozen ways to get started with Fishbowl and integrate it with other solutions. This week, we’ve got a most essential topic: The difference between parts and products in Fishbowl.
Parts vs. Products
Before you start entering parts and products into Fishbowl, it’s important to know which is which. That will save a lot of time and avoid a lot of confusion when you try to track all of the inventory you have in stock. In the simplest terms, here is the difference: A part is anything that is counted in your inventory; it doesn’t matter whether it is sold or only used internally. A product is anything that is sold. As you can see, parts are much more comprehensive than products. The video above goes into much more detail explaining the difference between parts and products, offering examples and applications.
