Class is in session. The Class module allows you to categorize sales, purchases, and transfers in both Fishbowl and QuickBooks. Many companies choose to create classes to organize transactions by location, but that’s not the only way to do it.You can also create classes by:
Business type
Color
Department
Product type
Virtually any other criteria you can imagine
Any classes you create and associate items with in your inventory will be automatically sent to QuickBooks when you export data from Fishbowl to the accounting software. This allows you to track inventory by class in both Fishbowl and QuickBooks. To create a new class, simply click the New button at the top of the module and add a Class Name and note if it’s a Subclass of an existing one. Then hit the OK button. The new class will immediately show up on the screen. It’s easy to edit and disable classes, if you wish, by simply clicking on them to open their options. This module helps Fishbowl stay classy. Next week we’ll show you how to stay current with the Currency module.
The Accounting module group will be particularly important to accountants and business leaders concerned with the financial side of inventory management and business transactions.
