Fierce Firearms is a small business located in Redmond Utah. Led by Owner & CEO John Mogle. Fierce produces American made high-end bolt action hunting rifles. With 17 years of experience and passion for the firearms and hunting industry, John leads about 100 employees currently and has been handcrafting rifles since 2019.  

Challenge 

Before opening up the location in Utah, John partnered with an individual in Canada that owned a large machine shop. The rifles were produced and manufactured there until 2020. 

Leading up to the buyout Fierce Firearms had just had its biggest year at $8 million in sales. Their business ran out of QuickBooks desktop and printed sales orders stored in paper folders to track backorders. Whenever a shipment arrived from Canada there was a team of salesman pulling paper forms and trying to allocate guns on the shipment to orders we hadn’t fulfilled yet.  

This time-consuming process led to a poor customer experience due to sales orders not being fulfilled in a timely manner due to manual workflows. The team attempted to track production using spreadsheets, but the process continued to become consuming, frustrating, and overwhelming.  

In 2021, the team made the decision to invest in inventory management software to help efficiently manage their inventory, manufacturing, and warehousing workflows in a single platform. Fishbowl fit the bill, allowing them to also sync their workflows with QuickBooks so they didn’t miss a beat when implementing this new way of work.

Since implementing Fishbowl Advanced, Fierce Firearms has grown their sales to a record $22 million back in 2023. The team has used Fishbowl to help them scale to a $10 million increase since 2021. Their turnaround time in filling orders has exponentially increased, allowing the team to deliver more products in a timelier manner resulting in happier customers and increased growth.
